Chocks Away: Paddy and Lucky's inaugural flight today with Aer Lingus on an Airbus A320 (EI-DEM), was super exciting.
Captain Paddy T Bear and his sidekick Lucky had an early start on Wednesday January 18th. Report time at the Ops room at Cork was 06:40 and it was going to be a busy day! Paddy and Lucky reviewed the forecast weather and checked all the NOTAMs carefully. With the flight plans printed, Paddy and Lucky went to preflight their aeroplane, EI-DEM an Aer Lingus Airbus A320. Checks complete and paperwork in order, Paddy and Lucky started up the engines and soon were flying high over the coastline of Southern Ireland on the way to London Heathrow. On time and with 170 happy passengers disembarking at Terminal 2 in Heathrow, Paddy and Lucky took a well earned tea break before getting ready for the return flight. It wasn’t long before the Airbus was fuelled up and the passengers were all on board. Paddy and Lucky expertly navigated their way out of the busy London airspace and headed for home. Touching down in Cork, ahead of schedule, Paddy and Lucky were thrilled with their first day on the line.
